The Lightning won't appeal to hardcore truck shoppers who need the best towing or payload capacities, a large bed or great off-road abilities – the regular F-150 has them covered there. The Lightning’s front trunk can gobble up a massive amount of cargo. The electric F-150 has less towing and hauling capability than the traditional F-150, but it makes up for that with even more cargo capacity. The Lightning, as the name suggests, is also very quick from a stop with instant power and torque. When I tested the Lightning for a week, I found that it has a more planted feel when cornering because of the weight of its electric battery. That’s a good thing, but that’s not to say there aren’t any differences between the two.
